Who Can and Cannot Administer S4 Injections – Wrinkle relaxer Injections

Many Australians are still unaware that a schedule 4 injection such as wrinkle relaxers, are only to be administered by professionally trained doctors or by a nurse who is directly supervised by a doctor.

So what is cosmetic schedule 4 injections (S4 injections)? Currently cosmetic injections such as wrinkle relaxers and fillers, are listed as Schedule 4 on the Poisons List which require a prescription and must be administered under the supervision of a doctor.

Nurses may administer treatments once a doctor has undertaken a face-to-face consultation with the patient and has prescribed the amount of product that can be used. A nurse may then administer the treatment, but cannot deviate from the doctors prescribed amount. A doctor must also remain onsite at all times during the procedure.

At Utopian Cosmetics, Dr Dennis Millard consults and administers all treatments. This is because at Utopian Cosmetics, we believe it’s our responsibility to ensure each patient we treat is in safe and experienced hands at all times.

If and when you decide to undergo any wrinkle relaxer of dermal filler treatments, don’t be afraid to ask questions and make sure you do your research so that you are protected and receive the best possible care.
